What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on our site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Comments are kept in our company records for the sole purpose of improving customer services. No personal information is attached to these records and is regarded as anonymous.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

We do not share your personal or non-personal information with any organisation or an individual except in a case where legally obliged to do so by a court of law.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on our site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Your contact information

We collect only two (2) mandatory pieces of your contact information i.e. your email address and mailing address which are required for correspondence purposes and delivery of goods you purchase from our online store, respectively. Other pieces of contact information such as telephone number and non-mailing address are optional. None of your contact information are disclosed to any organisation or individual.

How we protect your data

We use SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificates to ensure that the data transferred between you, the user, and our website and vice-versa are secured. This uses encryption algorithms to make your data safe in transit.

Neither your credit / debit card information nor any of your bank details are temporarily stored or archived in our repository. All on-line payments are via the payment system and hence all your information are undisclosed and non-transparent to us.

All your personal details and login information such as your password are securely stored in our database. Our database can only be accessed by our appointed Administrator. You may opt to generate a password or choose your own password. Your password is stored in a hash form and therefore inaccessible even by our Administrator.

What data breach procedures we have in place

We have an internal Data Breach Management Procedure in place to identify the breach and its severity, contain and recover personal data and sections where the breach has occurred, undertake a risk assessment of the mitigating the extent of the breach,notify the affected individual(s) and the Personal Data Protection Commission within 72 hours of identifying the breach and finally, evaluate and improve vulnerabilities in the system.

We do not receive any your data from third-parties. Third-parties may access your data through links in our website which you click.
